Features

env is a rules-based system that does not require any custom programming to install or use. All tables and rules used by the system are entered using a standard web browser via point and click menus.

env maintains a SQL Server historical database that is used to calculate performance and produce charts and graphs. env stores and accumulates data from any of the devices attached to it, such as zone and water temperatures, humidity, and KWH consumption by device, to name a few.

env interfaces with the National Weather Service to gather forecasts that are used to alter strategy, i.e., the outside air temperature is rising rapidly… decrease the water temperature in the radiant floors and prevent overshoot and save energy.

env uses humidity readings to compute comfort levels based on the operative temperature calculations.

env optimizes and manages the combined use of forced‐air and radiant systems to achieve optimal comfort, energy savings, and strategic use of energy sources.

env users and installers can select from different radiant control strategies, i.e., constant circulation, slab sensors or T‐Stat control, outdoor reset, proportional reset, return water temperature differential, etc. This is accomplished using virtual device drivers.

env users can define macros that can be used manually or based on timers. The macros can be used to set back zones, turn the hot water heater on and off, etc.
